Energy brokerage company, Alternative Utility Services, Inc. (AUS) is approved to operate in the District of Columbia as an aggregator/broker of electricity.

Alternative Utility Services, Inc. (AUS) is now approved to function as an electricity supplier in the District of Columbia under order No. 17747 and filed with Formal Case No. EA 2014-20.

D.C. Official Code § 34-1501(17) (2001) defines, in part, an electricity supplier as “a person, including an aggregator, broker, or marketer, who generates electricity; sells electricity; or purchases, brokers, arranges or markets electricity for sale to customers.”  Specifically, AUS will be operating as an aggregator/broker and will not be taking title to electricity in this state.

With this license, AUS has been granted the right to offer electric services to residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout the Potomac Electric Power Company territory, within the District of Columbia.
